Two weeks before the 25th of April 1915 Allied landing at ‪#‎Gallipoli‬, 22,000 Greeks of the Gallipoli region were deported to the interior of Turkey without food and water and scattered among Turkish villages where they were forced to choose between Islam or death. Throughout April, May and June of 1915, the Turks continued to deport Greeks of the region on the pretext of military necessity. The 25th of April is a day of huge national significance for Australia, as many regard it as the birth of the nation. But for the native Greeks who were cruelly deported and sent to the unknown, it was the beginning of their end. ‪#‎GreekGenocide‬
